Planes have always been a fascination of mine. As a teenager, I took ground school at a local airport, however, finances prohibited my pursuing it any further. But, having lost a couple of family members and a few friends to flying accidents, I’m glad I didn’t pursue it. Instead, I leave the operation of planes to the professionals.
As an artist, I’ve also enjoyed what is called “nose art”. During WWII, airmen would paint a picture of a pretty lady on their planes. It was thought to bring them good luck. Some of my aviation art takes its inspiration from this rare form of art.
